Health & Human Services

The Links, Incorporated established the Health and Human Services facet in response to the chronic health disparities that persist in black communities and result in the decreased life expectancy of African Americans and other people of African ancestry. The goal of HHS is to promote and facilitate programs that support the maintenance of good health and the elimination of chronic health disparities in communities of color through education, health advocacy, and optimal utilization of health resources.

The Waterbury Chapter has partnered with The National Kidney Foundation, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the Greater Waterbury Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Grace Baptist Church to educate and bring awareness to the importance of health and nutrition.

Through our series of health related seminars, titled "Its All About Me", we aim to educate and inform the community on issues such as heart health, mental health, and healthy hair and skin.
